Welcome to Eating with Debbie

Hi, I’m Debbie McGinley
I am board certified nutrition specialist (CNS), licensed dietitian nutritionist (LDN) and board certified health and wellness coach (NBC-HWC).
I help women going through the menopause transition, who are experiencing fatigue, brain fog, unexplained weight gain, low libido, stress and anxiety, feel like their younger self; full of life and energy.
In addition, I support clients seeking to improve metabolic health, chronic disease prevention, autoimmune and inflammatory conditions, and digestive health.
I provide highly personalized medical nutrition therapy, functional nutrition testing and interventions, as well as lifestyle considerations that are effective and sustainable.
The Menopause Transition
Let’s face it, as a woman you are constantly going through hormonal changes starting at birth. In fact, you have the opportunity to experience five hormonal stages in your lifetime: puberty, pregnancy, post-partum, perimenopause, and menopause. No matter what stage of life you are in, hormones affect you daily, contributing to unwanted and unexplained symptoms — some that aren’t always obvious.
It’s hard enough getting by day to day when you struggle with sleep. Then there are symptoms of weight gain, hot flashes and night sweats, or stress and anxiety. You feel inadequate as a partner because your libido is nonexistent. Where once you had a lot of motivation to be productive, you now struggle to complete a task and often times are left feeling defeated.
Labs are starting to show signs of elevated cholesterol, blood sugar, and liver enzymes (ALT/AST). Even more, it’s not uncommon to see your TSH and thyroid hormones start showing signs of struggle.
This is a time where it is important to balance hormones – cortisol, progesterone, estrogen, testosterone, thyroid – so you can wake up feeling energized and like your younger self instead of broken. How? The truth is there is no one-size-fits-all approach. Too many factors play a role in hormonal health. Factors such as diet, gut microbiome, exercise, stress, sleep, emotional well-being, other medical conditions and medications, environmental factors, and even genetics.
There are nutritional, lifestyle, and supplemental interventions you can employ to minimize symptoms and balance your hormones. These interventions help restore energy levels, improve sleep, reduce stress and anxiety, support weight loss, decrease the hot flashes and night sweats, and increase libido.
Wouldn’t it be nice to just wake up and feel like yourself? Schedule a 15-minute free strategy session to learn more about how I can support you in designing a program that works for you!
